The Fault in Our Stars

“Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.” - John GreenThe Fault in Our Stars

The Fault in Our Stars is about a 16 year old girl named, Hazel Grace Lancaster's point of view. She has been battling the Terminal Lung Cancer that has been diagnosed since she was 13. She meets 17 year old, Augustus Waters in a Cancer Children Support meeting and then her life changes..

I just finished reading this book for the second time! And it hit me again! I can tell you that no matter how many times you come to read this book, it will surely hit all your emotions. Some books may make you laugh so hard `till your stomach hurts, will make you mad, will make you feel giddy, will make you feel sad it makes you wanna cry, will leave you hanging and asking for more. But this book is different! I felt EVERYTHING! I was crying silently and smiling and feeling sad and everything. It felt so real. The Fault in Our Stars is one of the best books I've ever read, and it is my favorite book as of now.

Hazel Grace was an inspiration. Despite of her condition, she still goes about and does everything a normal or a healthy person does. And while Hazel Grace can be pessimistic sometimes, Gus (Augustus) was the exact opposite. He has this optimism that everyone around him would feel good.

Oh, how I wish I could find someone like Gus. Lol.

Here are some lines from the book that I loved:

"Without pain, how could we know joy?"

"That's the thing about pain, it demands to be felt."

"Some infinities are bigger than other infinities."

My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations.

“I’m in love with you, and I’m not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I’m in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we’re all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I am in love with you.”

"'Okay' will be our 'always'"
